On mountain roads you would often find these signs – ‘give way for upward moving traffic’ and the like. Giving way on narrow mountain roads helps not just those who are moving up but even those who are driving down as there would be less congestion on the road.
One thing we have been taught as kids by our parents was to give way. We were told to let women and elderly pass before us when we trying to get in somewhere. I were taught to give older people seats even if that mean we had to stand for hours. This would always happen at special services at our church. We would go to church hours in advance to get a seat and when we saw someone elderly or unwell we always had to get up and give our seat.
Life is not all about hogging the limelight. Social media today teaches people to grab as many likes as possible. People get so upset if their posts don’t grab enough views or likes. Sometimes I wonder if their self worth was so flimsy that they had depend on the likes of strangers and people who don’t really care. Give way , grow up, at the end of the day likes won’t save you.
People need to be able to find satisfaction in what they do, the results shouldn’t matter really. A job well done is reward in itself. Peace, happiness , self worth all come from within. Look deep inside.

Absolutely, and if we don’t find kind words to say to others we could at least zip up.

There are always examples of when we shouldn’t.
I do like the thought about social media and collecting likes. That has become an issue that impacts all of us!
I agree there are situation when you shouldn’t , but basic social courtesy does teach us this.

It is the new age doctrine. Do what you want as long as it brings happiness to you. Even kindness, being nice other positive attributes don’t matter. It is the current conditioning of the society we live.

When you drive uphill you might find one. I don’t see these in the city where I live.
For uphill or downhill rides it is different …. the shape is the same only on the sign it says what percentage of the hill it is up or down
