For a long time, it has been debated whether “gif” is pronounced with Hard G or Soft G. Finally gifpy, one of the world’s most popular animated photo sites, and “jif” a paint butter brand, spoke about the exact pronunciation of the word.
This website and Paint Butter Company ended the debate by saying that the correct pronunciation is Infact gif not jif. that is, gif is called gif while jif is called jif and a special jar has been prepared for which both words are written.
