Fruit pests

Summer is near and the fruit fly is starting to show their presence. Orchard caretakers are in a hurry to set up the traps for the fruit flies to save their fruits from being pestered. Fruit flies can ruin the entire harvest for next  month or so. Orchards are aware of this season that they want to be one step ahead of the pesky insects.

The vinegar trap is effective for catching fruit flies. Some vinegar is placed in an empty plastic drinking bottle that attracts the fruit flies and they die from the acidity of the vinegar. The trap is not really able to eradicate the pests but at least the fruit flies are diminished in number. The more traps, the more fruit flies are caught so the fruits are left to their natural state which is good for the upcoming harvest.
