Friday in Black and White – Natural lace

How would the world be, if we see it only in shades of black and white?

In a colorful world, our eye is attracted to color.  What will happen if everything is only in black and white shades?

The answer is not simple and I think this is the role of black and white photography, to give us the answer to this question.

Removing the color from a photo, the eyes run on the focused object. The tones, shapes and textures become more obvious, are not they?

  1. To confess, my first steps in photography were a colorful positive film 🙂
Then I discovered black and white photography, again on film!
So far, I’ve been shooting some projects on black and white film.

  2. It’s the strangest thing. I grew up when TV and photographs were black and white. I remember how excited people were when they realized they could watch a YV show or a movie in color. I’ve seen some of the old shows and films colorized. It’s great. I love it. But I found old black and white movies and TV shows on YouTube and I’m sort of loving the “throwback vibe” when I watch them. They have a calming effect on me. I can’t really explain it. Black and white photographs also calm me somehow. You would think they make me gloomy. But they don’t.
