A close friend sent me a quote recently. She sent it because she felt like I was not moving forward. It was something Marc Chernoff has written.
“It is what it is. Accept it, learn from it, and grow from it. It doesn’t matter what you’ve done; what truly matters is what you do from here.”
I struggled with the quote because it didn’t say anything about being accountable for what you have done. My friend said that is was implied. What was sticking my head is that there was something missing. I agree you made the mistake and it is what it is.

I believe grow have a lot of things in it.
It should somehow have the meaning of learn and analyse … which to me, have a certain degree of knowing a mistake and avoid making it again.
It is, what it is. Moving on from where we are, should mean we accept the impact. My favorite philosophy for this is:
Don’t be the rock.
Don’t be the ripple.
Be the quiet, before and after.
Wow, that made me cry today. That is going to be placed in my home and framed.
two of the nicest compliments I’ve gotten, came from you today. I am honored, and humbled by that.
Thank you so much!!!
