In the olden days when you have to meet someone outside, all you could do is wait when the person doesn’t come on time. You have no other way to know when he is coming. And what if he wouldn’t come at all? That happened to me and probably to you as well.
Now it is comfortable to meet people outside because of the cellphone. If you arrive ahead then you can text or call the person to inform him of your arrival. Or maybe he can text you that he is going to be late in coming. Fine, very convenient.

The cell phone is the best if you have to meet someone somewhere. I remember quite a few time I was waiting and thought maybe the person was not coming at all.
