These pastel coloured flowers are made from fish scales – meeting Kim’s pastel colour challenge perfectly.
The creative and innovative nuns taught us this art while at school Those days large sized fish was easily available. Father bought us fish and with so many members in the household he got us large fish such as salmon.
We collected the scales of the fish washed them thoroughly and dried them in the sun. They were then pained and formed into flowers. I was not good at it but my sister was.

It is a wonderful work. I’m not good at handicrafts.
Nuns taught us how to make paper flowers as well but I too was not good in this art.
That is very beautiful and how amazing you can make this from fish scales.
They have a natural sheen and so even without painting one could use them.
