Bright Colors – Nature Tuesday

Bright and contrasting colors always grabs the eye. The mini dahlias in the park looked awesome on a bright day like today. I have taken a great liking to the mini dahlias. These are very easy to grow and care for. The huger ones are pretty stunning but the problem with them is in the wind and rain they are often battered  and break.  They look a terrible mess for the rest of the season. The dwarf dahlias need no stakes and don’t need extra care with the wind and the rain.

The best thing about Dahlias are not that they can be grown from tubers every year but they can be multiplied from cuttings. You could get as many plants as you like of a single variety as you like by taking cuttings and growing more.. The cuttings not only grow faster but they also bloom faster.

Just feeding the plants every fortnight could give you a season of bright color and beauty. As far as I am concerned dahlias not only re the cheapest but the most beautiful kind of color any garden will ever need. Personally speaking I am mad about Dahlias.
