This is a late upload for the challenge. But I can’t wait until next Friday to post this.
It is the last day of our seminar here in Cebu. I went out early morning to buy something from a 711 store around the corner.
I was surprised to see these two children sleeping on a makeshift bed on the sidewalk. There was no roof or anything to cover them.
My heart melted.
A few feet away a drunk man lies asleep with a half emptied bottle of cheap wine.
On my way back I secretly took this picture. I blurred the child’s face to protect his identity.
Cebu is a very progressive city.
Last night we went to one of the well known upscale areas known as the Cebu It Park. Where the towering buildings and streets are kept clean; where people walk wearing comfortable and even signature clothings and willingly pay a hundred pesos or two dollars for a cup of coffee.
Two groups of people living in clear contrast as in black in white.

We have a lot of those street children here. Most of them are addicted to solvent.
ugh… the rugby boys. I hope these two are not doing it.
Oh my goodness this is heartbreaking to see.
Yes indeed, Carol. I was wondering what the local government is doing to help these poor people. There is. Barangay (village) Hall across the street with open garage and a large screen TV, and a covered basketball court nearby. ;(
