Are cats happy indoor?

In this picture you can see one of my cats. She is feral. Now she is 5 years old. She can’t live inside. She has the freedom she needs. She does whatever she wants. Her mother was a feral cat who lived outdoors for more than 10 years.

I have an indoor cat, but I wonder if he is happy. He doesn’t have freedom. He never goes outside because he is terrified. He is so used to living indoors.

Cats who live outdoors don’t have a long life, but at least they have freedom. Are cats happy indoor?

  1. If they are feral, or used to be for a long time, I think they’re likely to prefer the outdoor life, fair enough. Cats are creatures of habit, aren’t they? ?
If you’re able to provide a fun environment where cats feel constantly stimulated, living indoors can probably make them as happy. And birds and lizards will thank us!
