This train is one of its kind. It is called the toy train but fully functional. It is a tourist attraction. It moves at snail pace and covers the hills and dales of Darjeeling with its slopes and valleys. The train is so slow that one can see school kids hopping in and out.
No tourist should miss this rare experience but sadly we missed it for reasons unknown. This train has been in existence since 1880 that ran on steam at that time but it is now converted to Diesel.
Darjeeling is endowed with scenic beauty and what better way to drink it in than travelling by this train!!

That look great, Grace! I would love to visit Darjeeling – perhaps some of the tea estates 🙂 I took a similar train in Kodagu (Coorg) some years back.
We missed this train ride. Yes. Darjeeling tea is the best Kodagu is another lush green State.
Yes. I toured some of the coffee-growing areas, and really enjoyed.
I am a tea addict and will stop at nothing to get the best for me at reasonable rates. .
Traveling by train is always been a good fun
These trains take you round sight seeing.
I would love to take a ride on this train!
Sadly we did not take that ride even though we were there for quite a few days.
Maybe you will get to on next trip there sometimes in future? Never say never!!
I had already decided not to travel any more as I have a lot of that and now with this pandemic that will never ever happen.
Very true. The virus is changing everything for us all.
