Nope, we’re not talking about A&E. The quarterfinals of the Hercules Tires America East Men’s Basketball Championship begins today. All four games will be played on the home courts of the higher-seeded teams. Binghamton has to sit out for this tournament because they ended up in 9th place. The America East is cold.
Are Hercules Tires really that good even though they are sponsoring about 3 or 4 college basketball tournaments? Will anyone come close to stop Vermont from repeating? These questions will be answered after the tournament is over.
Here is the schedule for the America East quarterfinals.
#5 New Hampshire at #4 Maryland-Baltimore County (UMBC) – 1 PM EST.
#6 UMass-Lowell at #3 Hartford – 5 PM EST.
#7 Albany at #2 Stony Brook – 7 PM EST.
#8 Maine at #1 Vermont – 7 PM EST.

UMBC only because it is Maryland!
Vermont because i think they are one NCAA team in this grouping.
UMBC has the biggest upset in NCAA history, but they could have a shot if they can avoid Vermont until the final. The America East reconfigures the semifinals for the highest seed remaining to play the lowest seed remaining instead of the normal bracket. I’m taking Vermont as well, but Stony Brook still has a chance.
plus they are only 50 minutes from my house! i just have to close my eyes when I drive through Turtle land.
