no, the problem was with the image. the hieroglyphs weren’t working with the technique

It doesn’t have the same sharp frame as the tutorial one, I guess that’s why white subjects on dark backgrounds work best with this watercolor stain technique. ?
yes, there is almost no contrast here at all…
I was going to say the same, until I realized there is contrast… but in the wrong places.
