This is a close look at an individual mustard plant. We have four types of wild mustard that commonly grow in this region. I’m not sure which one this is, but I suspect it is black mustard.
My Fijian Indian neighbour has a store of different herbs and spices that grow in the garden that I used to believe were weeds. She has had a mustard flavour radish growing sometimes and some other plant she calls mustard. No I never heard of it before. I like you thought of only one type

In the past 15 years I’ve learned that what I’ve always considered just weeds are edible or medicinal.
I have never heard of wild mustard.

That’s the only kind I’ve ever seen that doesn’t come in a jar.

Not seen this type before.

I don’t remember seeing any other type, but to me, mustard is mustard, and I’d have to see two plants together to tell the difference.

Really? We have four kinds? I never knew this. Wow. Now I have some reading to do. I just posted a mustard flower or two too today. Great minds..

I suppose we both are seeing the same kinds of scenes at the same time.

I also do not distinguish the species. They all look the same to me.

It’s hard to tell one from the other unless you have a good field guide in your hand, and most of those don’t show all the species.
