Senično is a small village in Slovenia. It lies 513, 7m above sea level on the mountain slope of Kriška gora, near the Austrian border. Population counts 310 as of 2017. It’s an idyllic village where peace reigns. It’s surrounded by forests, countless meadows and a series of streams.
We have a gorgeous church of st. Jernej that was built in 1455. I recommend seeing it, it’s really beautiful. After all this tour of the village, which is quite big actually, spread out everywhere, you can stop at a Pr’ Bajd pub. They have many home made dishes known in our country and of course, standard ones like steaks, salads, pasta…
It’s also interesting as it ”touches” the neighbouring villages and with many pastures, you can see many animals, horses, cows, donkeys, sheep, goats and many more. It’s a balsam for the eyes and a rest for your body and soul.
