Winter 2019-2020 was not always easy for Crete so whenever the day is sunny, everybody is out enjoying a fine weather!

Heraklion is a very nice place indeed, and the video is lovely.
So was Heraklion founded when Crete was part of the Republic of Venice? That was a very long time ago!
Thank you for your question! Actually Heraklion was founded long time ago, most probably during the Minoan Civilization, as the port of Knossos. There has been a number of excavations in the city that have discovered a variety of really old monuments, dating back to the Byzantine, to the Arab conquerors in that specific area.
Even some historians disagree with each other, about the origins and the first inhabitants of the area but it is a very interesting theme to try and investigate 🙂
