  • Another Milanese sight is the La Scala theater. This is the most famous and prestigious opera house in the world. Located next to the famous Milan Opera House, there is a museum that stores exhibit related to theater history. You must visit it!

  • The Galleria Vittorio Emanuele – the oldest shopping mall in Italy.  The idea of shop malls appeared in France in 1798. There was built a Passage du Caire, in honor of the French military campaign in Egypt and Syria. People liked this idea because they were protected from natural fog, dirt, and noise, and could walk calmly as in a supermarket. The famous gallery in Milan is named after Victor Emanuel II, the king of the first Italian king. It was designed in 1861 and built-in 1865-1877. Of course, the gallery of Victor Emmanuel II is under the glass dome. Gallery of 45 meters high glass and steel dome was made by the example of St. Peter’s Church dome in Rome. Here you will find a lot of nominal stores.

  • Victory Temple (Tempio Della Vittoria) is a marble monument in front of Garibaldi barracks. IT was inaugurated in 1928, November 4, commemorating the 10th anniversary of Vittorio Veneto, recalling the lives of the Milaners who died during the First World War.

  • San Lorenzo Basilica(Basilica di Milano di San Lorenzo Maggiore). The basilica was built at the end of 4th century, however, it became a victim of failures more than once, and was restored in 1911, 1916, and 1937-1938.

  • The most famous Milanese museum is the Brera Pinacoteca (Pinacoteca di Brera). It is a world-class museum, like the Italian Louvre. It features one of the most important and famous Italian art collections.

  • The National Museum of Natural History in Milan is one of the oldest museums in the city. It displays minerals,  birds, and insects. Especially the children like it!

  1. I was in Milan twice but didn’t get to see much of anything. I saw what you could see getting between the airport and the train station. I did love the train station, however.
