Mahabalipuram is a coastal town in North Tamil Nadu near Chennai. A favorite weekend getaway for Chennai residents, it attracts visitors from all over the world. The stone sculptures created over a 1000 years ago by the Pallava rulers have stood the test of time. Arjuna Penance, Shore Temple, Cave Temples, Pancha Pandava Rathas and Tiger Cave are some of the major attractions in Mahabalipuram. It also has two offbeat attractions in the form of a Danish fort in Sadras and a seaport in Alamparai. The white sandy beach adds to its appeal as a tourist destination. Mahabalipuram is best visited from July to February when the weather is pleasant.
So many beautiful places that are worth visiting!
The sculptures look fantastic. I would be happy to visit this place.
Thanks Tasartcraft. Yes, to see sculptures created over a thousand years ago is very special.

Thank you Abhishek for your comments.
Beautiful stone sculptures, my friend
I usually think travelling for hours to see a monument is stupid, but I’d do it to see one of these things…
It is ok Alex. Even I used to be less inclined to travel once upon a time. So I can understand what you mean.
I hate travelling, but for something that beautiful, I would make an exception
