This 18th century fort is well-known for its architectural brilliance. However Shaniwarwada fort in Pune, India is also infamous for various spooky incidents. The young Narayan Rao who was the 5thand the ruling Peshwa then was brutally murdered in the fort by guards on the orders of his uncle Raghunath Rao and aunt Anandi Bai. It is said that the ghost of Narayan Rao still haunts the place and his shrieks for help can be heard in the middle of the night. The paranormal activity is said to be at its peak on full moon nights. For this reason, the fort is deserted at night and tourists prefer to visit it during the day.
