Singing sand, waves, and sea snakes at Karon Beach, Phuket

Karon beach is very beautiful, firstly, it has a rather large length, and secondly, the beach has rather developed infrastructure, but less fuss and people than near Patong.

To get to the beach you need to cross the road from the hotel since it’s not very lively and from time to time there is a traffic police officer who controls the traffic and lets pedestrians pass. The beach is fenced off from the road by palm trees and other trees and shrubs, so that noise from the road is not felt.

There is a small cafe, you can buy fresh fruit, and we took coconuts for 40 baht, the prices are the same as in the cafe. Of the minuses, I can note that there is no equipped shower or toilet for visitors. Again, you have to cross the road, and there it is for a small fee. It was closer for us to go to our hotel.

Usually, people lay on beach towels, and the sand as fine flour, if you go, you can hear a creak, as if you are walking in the snow. Honestly, to spend the whole day on the beach is simply unrealistic, and all our days were scheduled, excursions, shops. The beach is pretty clean, although I didn’t see it being cleaned, only the sunbeds are being cleaned.

During our vacation there were no strong waves, the tides are not so noticeable. The entrance in the sea is good, but the depth starts at about 10 meters. In the first days in the water, we were bitten by jellyfishes, there were no traces, but tingling was unpleasant, we had to sail further.

The water is very clear, the visibility is excellent.The sunsets are very memorable here, on the stones you can make unique shots.

At the end of the beach, if we go to Patong there is a statue of Na-Ga, we reached it on foot, but at night, it is not lighted up.

In general, if you do not need discos, night clubs, establishments with Thai national peppercorns and entertainment until the morning, and you are a fan of a relatively relaxing holiday on a nice cozy beach with a clear sea, then Karon is your beach! Visit it, relax on it, you will like it!
