São Miguel Island is the largest island of the Azores (9 islands in all) and, together with the island of Santa Maria, forms the Eastern Group of islands. It has 62 kms of length and 15 kms of width. Ponta Delgada is the capital of the island.
From the island of Santa Maria, on good weather days, it is possible to see the island of São Miguel. The distance between the two islands is about 150 km (20 minutes by plane and about 3 hours by boat)
Here are some photos I have taken and I want to share them with you. I hope you will like them. They were taken from the island where I live, Santa Maria.
