One of the most beautiful parts of the United Kingdom is Cornwall, the South-west region, which used to be an ancient kingdom, an area awash with myths and fairy tales. If you are ever in Cornwall, do go and visit St Michael’s Mount, the castle on a tidal island off the coast near the town of Marazion. A place full of legends (the story is that it was built by a giant called Cormoran), it is also one of the loveliest and most awe-inspiring tourist attractions (and that is up against some stiff competition). It is a medieval castle high up on a mound (as the name suggests) and it is also exudes energy: there are many ley lines (lines of earth energy) which meet and cross here like a kind of complex junction, giving it a magical and mystical atmosphere.
It is also not pricey to visit this attraction, as you can walk across the causeway over the sea from the mainland for no cost, but it depends on the time of the tides (it is cut off from the mainland at high tide). Once there, you can walk around the village and harbor for nothing, but you need to pay to enter the luxuriant gardens and castle which is steeped in history. It is definitely worth it though.
When you approach the tower at the top of the hill, look out for the heart-shaped stone; it is rumored that if you stand on it, you can hear the giant’s heartbeat. There is another romantic legend which says that if you touch the highest point of the Mount’s bedrock base you will have your wish granted ( particularly before a proposal of marriage).

Yes Indexer, I believe St Michael’s Mount was named after the counterpart in Brittany!
Despite having visited Cornwall several times, I have never visited St Michael`s Mount, but I have twice been to Brittany`s Mont St Michel, which is similar in many respects, including the name!
