Fort Ticonderoga on Lake Champlain

We drove all the way up to the top of Lake George to the town of Ticonderoga and on to Lake Champlain where we finally found the famous and historic Fort Ticonderoga. This original Revolutionary war fort has been kept up and restored pretty well and sits overlooking the Southern end of Lake Champlain. Lake Champlain is on the Eastern side of upper New York State and splits the area between NY State and Vermont.  The Fort is populated by costumed soldiers and they fire cannons and muskets and play music and let you tour all over.

  1. I visited there when I was eight years old. My dad bought me a Colonial hat & a letter opener shaped like a revolutionary musket. I opened all my mail with that musket opener for years afterwards. Thanks for bringing back a happy memory.
