View of Lake Champlain from Fort Ticonderoga

We are at the famous and historic Fort Ticonderoga on Lake Champlain and walking around seeing all the original and restored stone buildings. Here from one of the buildings you can see down across the Fort out to Lake Champlain and the mountains and scenery beyond including Vermont. In the foreground you can see the large canons that they were live firing. There were the ramparts which were woven sticks and roots baskets that surrounded the gun area and were originally filled with dirt to protect the gunners and guns from incoming fire from the warships on the lake and troops.
