In those early days, before we learned Discretion and Humility we got into various tussles.
We might post a remark or comment and another user would ask questions, want more information, trying to pull our tongues, to get info which was none of their business.
For example, a nothing post about the value of plastic spoons over metal and someone comments;
“It sounds like you had some bad personal experiences with metal spoons, do you want to share them?”
Why is this being asked?
Does it matter if the writer had bad experiences with metal spoons?
No.
The point is to gather personal information. Why?
Those of us who were conscious ‘flagged’ the poster, told the others in our ‘posse’.
This is because have run our mouths on local BBS we had virtually walked naked down King Street. Now we had learned to share just as much as we wished.
Discretion is important.
Discretion is definitely very important.
People will use things you’ve said or posted against you. They will try to milk info so you have to be discrete
