There is a difference between the Washington Post whose website is located in Washington, D.C. and a site which looks 100% American but is found at 5.32.183.255; which is in Macedonia.
In this way, you don’t make a complete fool of yourself quoting something concocted by folks wayyyy over there.
Yes, this is the whole problem with everything being online these days, isn’t it? We don’t know what is real any more, what or who we are dealing with. I often wish the Internet had never been invented, to be quite frank.
The ‘joke’ is that there are ways to check and prove, but people either don’t know them, are too lazy to use them or don’t even imagine that a site that ‘seems’ American is in Estonia.
Unbelievable, things we sometimes think are right here in the US are on the other side of the world.
