The Louisiana Derby is one of the prep raced for the Kentucky Derby and it is one that we typically watch and get excited about. It was different this year as there weren’t any spectators. There were staff but not the crowds that are normally there.
It sounds like this year the Kentucky Derby might run in September. That would be quite a change from May. The weather could play a big impact.

i have been lucky enough to complete my own Triple Crown. I have been to all three of the big races.
The Derby is unique. I do think since it is so close to Louisville that September is going to be hard on the horses.
it will be 10, 15 degrees warmer. the track will be hotter and the humidity that time of year in Louisville, is oppressive.
Many things are happening now with no audience. I hope this ends soon.
Nothing is the same anymore. It was so great to hug a long lost child or close friend and while all touch won’t stop, there is that moment of hesitation. My cousin who we haven’t seen for several years visited us yesterday and while we did kiss, there was that brief moment of hesitation.
