OSP gives ZZZ's to Menifield

In the co-main event yesterday evening, Ovince St. Preux (OSP) improved to 25-14 after securing a second round KO of Alonzo Menifield (9-2) in a light heavyweight bout at UFC Fight Night 176 at the Apex Center in Las Vegas, NV.  St. Preux broke the light heavyweight (205 lbs) record with the most career finishes at the weight class with 11.

Menifield was looking to bounce back from a loss, but he was not able to get close to OSP, who is three inches taller.  OSP used that reach to maintain range with front kicks to the gut.  To counter that attack, Menifield was forced to rush in if he wanted to land his own shots.

With less than a minute to go in the second round, Menifield rushed in with a straight right to the body.  However, Menifield left himself vulnerable because he did not follow up that punch with another punch.  That allowed OSP to land a wonderful counter left hook that dropped Menifield immediately.

With that knockout, OSP received an extra $50,000 performance bonus.
