In honor of the US military during Veterans Day weekend, the #16 Baylor Bears played against the unranked Washington Huskies in the Armed Forces Classic yesterday evening at the Alaska Airlines Center in Anchorage, Alaska. All of the tickets in the 5,000 seat arena were given to military members and their families.
With ten minutes to play in the second half, Baylor jumped out to a 13-point lead, the largest lead in the game. However, Washington decided not to quit and the Huskies capped off the comeback with a 67-64 victory.
This game is a mild upset because Washington has plenty of talent, but the team did not have as much experience as Baylor. With Baylor being the more experienced team, the Bears should have put the game away instead of hibernating in the last ten minutes of the game. Baylor will need to fix this problem of the lack of scoring in crunch time.
I’ve actually had the opportunity to see the Washington Huskies play live when I used to work in Seattle 1/2 the year.
Who were you rooting for?
I was rooting for Washington more because the Pac-12 has been down in basketball for a couple of years. Plus, Baylor always loses leads under Scott Drew.
i love college bball – it is something I enjoy viewing. I probably would have rooted for the Huskies.
