Marcos Rogerio de Lima secured a heavyweight knockout against Ben Sosoli at UFC Auckland at the Spark Arena. The early KO occurred with 2:32 remaining in the first round.
First of all, the goal when fighting in the Spark Arena is to make sure that you will not get sparked. De Lima was not taking chances because he was winging punches for the entire fight. Instead of looking to avoid punches, Sosoli went forward without keeping his hands up. Ramming your head into punches is not a winning formula, which is why de Lima obtained a KO.
