Dinamo Minsk regained their strong form from last season with a 2-0 home victory against Torpedo BelAZ (FC Torpedo Zhodino) in the 3rd week of the Belarus Premier League.
The above video shows the second goal scored by Dinamo Minsk in the 42nd minute. Off of a corner kick, the Minsk header was deflected by the Torpedo goalkeeper. However, Torpedo was submarined by the shot by Karlo Brucic, who was able to net the ball at an extreme angle.
Dinamo Minsk moved up to 11th place with the first win of the season while Torpedo BelAZ moves down fourth place with their first loss of the season. Fortunately, no fans were in the stands to see this match due to the people of Belarus finally realizing that a pandemic is going on.
Very poor defending in this phase. I guess Torpedo defenders would rather stay home than risk their lives on the pitch; it’s certainly extremely difficult for players to focus on the game in such dark times.
I agree – the only player moving for Torpedo was the goalkeeper. I also agree on what you said about their state of mind at this time.
