In a UFC 240 preliminary featherweight fight, Hakeem Dawodu knocked out Yoshinori Horie with 52 seconds left in the 3rd round to improve his record to 10-1-1. Horie was running the entire bout, but Dawodu was able to catch him with a knee to the body and a left kick to the face that ended the fight at Rodgers Arena in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.
This bout allowed for Dawodu to showcase his striking skills since Horie was not able to secure any takedowns. This loss was Yoshinori’s first fight in the UFC. If he wants to remain in the UFC, then he will need to develop his grappling skills instead of staying one-dimensional on the feet.
something about being kicked in the face just makes you not want to fight anymore
At least they went 3 rounds.
It only went three rounds because the other guy was running the entire fight. When he got tired, then he got cracked.
Oh that was free style kick
Yes it was and the setup of the kick was even better after using a knee. The kick is so good that he won the performance bonus.
