Arizona State forgot that they had a college basketball game to play Wednesday evening against the St. Mary’s Gaels at the Talking Stick Resort Arena in Phoenix, AZ. The final score ended up being a 96-56 victory for St. Mary’s. Despite of the score being so lopsided, Alonzo Verge, Jr. put on a showcase.
He ended up scoring 43 of the Sun Devils’ 56 points. He was on the verge of scoring all of their points! St. Mary’s proved that they are for real this season with this destruction of the Sun Devils. Nevertheless, Alonzo Verge, Jr. is on the verge of becoming a star.
I cannot remember a year like this in NCAAM or NCAAW basketball. There have always been dominant teams, but this year, there are a lot of good teams and no dominant teams.
tis a year to enjoy watching!
Yes, I have never seen so much parity ever in college basketball. For example, the last two undefeated teams in men’s college basketball are Auburn and San Diego State. Michigan State’s victory over Northwestern was the first Big Ten road victory this season within conference. It’s absolutely bonkers right now. There’s so much parity due to lack of basketball IQ. Arizona State played some of the worst basketball that I have ever seen. Only three players from Arizona State scored for the entire game.
AAU ball changes everything. kids are taught to back up and shoot a 3!
one and done is destroying college ball
