The zinnia plant was in one of the gardens at the Grosse Point Lighthouse (2601 Sheridan Road, Evanston, Illinois). Once a federally owned lighthouse, it is now a city park for the city of Evanston, Illinois, a suburb of Chicago. The first photo is a pretty straightforward version, just cleaned up a bit. The other two are the result of my playing around with it.
The photo was taken with a Nikon Coolpix P7700 camera.

Zinnia (Emulated Infrared) (2017-08-04 14-41-11b)
I used Affinity Photo 1.6 to apply a technique which emulates infrared photography on an image produced without using any type of infrared filter. If you have the program, there is a video which describes the technique here.© 2017 Gary J. Sibio. All rights reserved
Wonderful zinnia shot and I like them all, Gary
Honestly I like them all
Thank you. I’m glad you enjoyed them.
very nice amazing post variations
Thank you very much, Jasmine
Very nice zinnia shot, Gary. I admit I’m a little ambivalent about the Emulated Infrared version, though 🙂
I didn’t like the the flower in that one was so sharp. I like it when the subject glows a little in IR. I just couldn’t find a way to make it happen.
Honestly I like them all, even the green one!
Thanks, Kim. The only thing I didn’t like about the way that one turned out is that I wanted the flower to glow a little. For some reason I couldn’t get that.
