Just an hour west drive from Denver, the Mount Evans Scenic Byway twists and winds the traveler above 14000 feet in elevation. While you might think that nothing would grow at those altitudes, a few hearty plants still peek out from the rocky crevices. Plus, the views from atop Mount Evans are special. You’re so high you feel like you can almost touch the clouds.
