Last year, in the lake of the Boris Garden in Sofia, again ducks were released.
For many years, it had been empty and without birds.
And behold, this spring was born and first generation ducks.
It inhabits a variety of wetlands, spillages of rivers, freshwater, brackish and salt water basins.
Requires a dense coastal vegetation where it can nest and hide while ripping.
Avoiding fast-running water. It is most common in the plains of the country, along the Danube and along the Black Sea coast.
It tolerates man’s closeness.
The number of wintering populations is estimated at around 9 million in Europe and Asia, 17-18 million in North America.
An average of about 100,000 ducks are wintering in our country.
Blue-headed Duck is the most numerous species of duck in Bulgaria.
