Chicago, Illinois (Edgewater neighborhood)
Nikon Coolpix P7700
We had already had a snowfall which had melted revealing a hosta plant that had been flattened by the weight of the snow.
Editing was done using On1 Photo RAW 2020. In Develop mode I used the Auto option for Tone and Color using the Cloudy setting. I also set Lens Correction to match my camera. Then I added the following filters: HDR Look (Subtle), Color Enhancer (Foliage), Photo Filter (Polarizer), Dynamic Contrast (Texture Enhancer), Vignette (manual) and Black & White (manual).

Skilled creative photography! Just as what my hubby photographer would– capture the rarest moment of life in nature.
Do you showcase your photography work somewhere?
Thank you.
I have an account at Clickasnap where I share a lot of photos. Some I’ve posted here but there are a lot more. You can see them at https://www.clickasnap.com/garysibio
I had a look. Your photos are fantastic! Have you heard of Flickr, as well?
I used to be on Flickr but they started charging. Clickasnap doesn’t charge. In fact it’s a cross between Flickr and Virily. You can earn money based on the number of views by members.
Oh, very interesting! I will tell my husband about it. Thank you.
That’s a waste of effort planting the plants
Not really. Hostas are perennials. They will come back in the spring.
You are such an excellent photographer. You see beauty in everything. This is amazing Gary.
Thanks, Carol. I’m glad you liked it.
Hope I can post lots of my photos here too
I’ll be looking forward to it.
Great shot. So dramatic in black and white. Poor plant for it was like being caught under an avalanche
Thanks. Actually it was only an inch or two of snow that did this. And it melted by the next day.
