This bird called common kingfisher (Alcedo atthis) is small .
The upper side of the male’s head is dark green with transverse blue strips. The cheeks are rusty, and behind them there is a white spot. The back, cross, and tail are blue. Chest and abdomen – rusty. The wings are dark green with blue teardrop stains.
It flies low over the water, waving quickly with wings and releasing a squeaky sound. Often standing still perched on a branch hanged the low over the water or on the stones. Feeds are small fish that fish on the water surface, water insects and their larvae, molluscs and small amphibians.
