Over the Thanksgiving holidays, we visited my sister at her home in Colorado Springs. They keep bees and we always look forward to getting fresh honey come Christmas time. While the lost a hive a few years ago, they now have two active hives. The bees in the blue hive tend to be a bit more aggressive, so I concentrated my photography efforts on the green hive. It was unseasonably warm over the weekend, so our busy buzzy friends were out and about. One did land on my hand while I was taking pictures, but I just tried to remain calm and still, and it eventually flew away all on its own. I hope you like the pictures.Sometime, I’ll have to visit when they are harvesting the honey. Cheers!
There is a common opinion in my country that only goodhearted people can deal with bees. Those amazing insects feel malice and can’t survive with such people. 🙂
This is the closest I will ever get to an active hive. lol Great shots!
