Too Much

There is over two feet of snow in the yard now. About an hour ago, right before they laid down for a nap they suggested I  go pick up some items at the store. (It’s important to remember that the store is 25 miles away.)

I thought about it and I don’t need anything bad enough to drive that far on a day like this alone. I am certain they won’t be happy when they wake up. I am also very certain at this point, I don’t care.

It has just been a little too much this week, this day, and the last couple of hours. I assume all will be well by the new year. It seems the new year brings hope and I need a little hope in every area of my world.

Sorry boys, going to the store was just too much.

Too Much

Today it feels like there is just too much. There is too much work to be done. There is too much paper in and around my desk. The list of people who truly need me to help them is too long. It is not even 5:00 am and I am overwhelmed.

So why am I here writing?

The first step in solving a problem is naming it. Seeing the issues clearly and then naming it. In this case “too much”. Then sharing it to make yourself accountable (sharing it).

  1. I often feel a little overwhelmed, too. For instance, my weekly to-do list includes work on the flower beds at church, lawn care for a person who is out of town, flower bed care for a elderly gentleman and his wife, work on weeding an asparagus bed for another person, and work on my own yard and garden, plus other projects around the house. The problem is that there are only 168 hours in the week and when the temperatures get above 80, yardwork becomes much more difficult to do. I have to prioritize.
