After eight years of making the acrylic work, The Single Line Lotus, I decided to do a watercolor version. I wanted to see how it would look like. This is smaller. It is 18 x 24 inches or 46 x 61 cm. The work is more intimate. The meditation figure can be interpreted by some as the Buddha. The figure is thin which makes it more appropriate as Siddhartha was an ascetic. The quality of the linear element in the image may have formalist tendencies but the line has a meandering essence which somehow acts as a magnet for my interest.
I’ve never understood the whole tubby Buddha thing
This is really different and I like it, great job!
