One In Four Americans Now Make a Living From The 'Online' Economy.

What I’m saying in my headline above, is that they use their personal computers, smartphones or other devices to make money wherever they can hop onto the internet – whether that’s in Barista’s,  cafes but mostly, they are doing it from the comfort of their own home.

I got this information from the research results of research company called Pew Research Center. They call it the “gig economy”.

Here are some of the ways the research revealed just how people are making money from the “gig economy”…

Approximately two percent of Americans earned money from ride-sharing companies like Uber and Lyft.

Another way to earn money online was, using digital devices to offer their service skills online, from a free website like Google’s free sites called Blogger and also from WordPress, (free sites)

Many people use apps on their computer devices that enable them to be hired to babysit, walk dogs or do handyman type repairs or clean-up work.

You might find this next point as surprising as I did, several of these respondents of the 2018 survey reported that they actually had more or less full-time jobs that paid a few dollars each, taking surveys!

Many full-time office administrators opted to save their companies money by working from home,  typing their reports or other information on their home computers.

It’s that last one I want to talk to you about today – getting paid to write a few words on your home computer or laptop. I know, we are doing just that, writing for Virily and a few other places but what I uncovered here is potentially huge!

You see, the main challenge of starting work like this is finding paying “gigs”.
