Made by a local artist Baptiste, “those” Vermeulen and inspired by the protagonists of the novel “Dog of Flanders”, a novel from 1872 that takes place in Hoboken and Antwerp. The main character is Nello, an orphan who becomes Patraschev friend, an abandoned dog. The two day walk along the town and frequently visited the cathedral, where Nello admires Rubens painting.
