Jesse Schumaker is one man who took chances of saving the lives of four people that were trapped inside a burning home in Blue Hill Township last month.
Schumaker was the right place at the right time when his neighbors home started to burn in the second story of the home on April 17, 2019 before dawn after he returned to his home with his son to retrieve some equipment that he forgot to take on his fishing trip.
Schumaker did call 911 to report the fire that happened to his neighbor before he decided to enter the main floor of the burning building to rescue the senior occupants of the home. After Jesse rescued the two senior owners of the burning building, he entered the building a second time to rescue a grandson and his girlfriend out of the building.
Then Schumaker made one final rescue of an adult male who was trapped on the roof of the burning building when he fled to the roof during the burning building. Schumaker then braced a piece of wood to the roof to rescue the fifth and final person to the ground before the Princeton Fire And Rescue firefighters arrived to put out the fire.
The Northeast Sherburne Fire And Rescue Department assisted the Princeton Fire And Rescue to put out the fire that is being investigated for what was the cause that did damage the home.
One person was taken to the local hospital to be treated for injuries in the fire. Normally the firefighters have discouraged persons to attempt to rescue persons who are trapped inside the burning building.
In the case of Jesse Schumaker, he is being called a hero for his actions of bravery that saved the lives of five people who likely who was have perished had Jesse not been there to risk his life to save five lives in a house fire on that fateful Wednesday morning in Minnesota since it was not likely that any of the five people inside the building were awake before sunrise.
A stunning example of incredible courage and bravery, really the best neighbor!!!
It really was a great act by a great neighbor who happened to be at the right place at the right time.
A person that I have never heard of.
I bet he never thought he’d be fishing his neighbors out of an inferno…
I agree with you since fate sure had a hand in making him a hero that morning.
fate made him a fisher of men
That is a very good observation on your part.
stole it from Yeshua ben Yoseph
I agree with you since we all need to watch each others backs.
as always thank for sharing this. I needed some happier news today! What a wonderful neighbor!
My pleasure to share some great rescue stories from Minnesota.
We could all use neighbors like that. We should all try to be neighbors like that!
