From Top to Toes: How to Reinvent Yourself

You know the scene: you’re standing in front of a wardrobe that’s full to the brim, but you have nothing to wear. Well, it might just be the time for a makeover, right? If you want a new image, but don’t want to overdo it, here are some ideas that may help you out.

1. Stay healthy

The first thing about looking beautiful has everything to do with your overall health. If it’s good, your skin is naturally radiant, your hair is soft and shiny, and your nails are strong and don’t break easily. Because health really makes you look good, you need to take care of it. Make sure you schedule regular checkups with your GP, gynecologist, and dentist. Do more than that – make sure you eat healthy, drink enough water and sleep at least 7 hours a night. It’ll go a long way in maintaining your general well-being. You’ll feel good, and you’ll automatically be more attractive.

2. Get fit

Being in shape is not only about the looks. Regular exercise helps your health in many ways. It improves your posture, blood flow, and energy levels. People who exercise are more productive and able to focus better and more easily. Of course, being fit will also make you more beautiful, because it improves the general health, which affects your skin and hair in addition to your shape. Getting fit will also boost your self-confidence, which will make you feel even more beautiful.

3. Devote yourself to hair care

Unfortunately, if you don’t take care of your hair, it shows pretty easily. You get dandruff, your hair becomes dry and next thing you know, you’ve got split ends. Once the condition of your hair deteriorates, it’s difficult to restore its health. Therefore, you should try to prevent that if you possibly can. Use the product that works for you, and be careful about using the products appropriate for the current weather conditions. Trim the ends regularly, and, when in doubt, always visit your hairdresser. They will usually be able to recommend good products for your hair type and give good advice on how to grow out your hair in a way that will keep it healthy and nourished. Finally, if there is nothing to be done, don’t hesitate to shorten it considerably – it’ll grow back, and it’s more flattering to have a stylish bob than a broom-like long hair.

4. Take good care of your skin

Make sure your skin routine is rock-solid. Your skin should always feel good. For example, if you feel any sort of stretching, it means your skin is not hydrated enough. Cleanse carefully two times a day – in the morning and before bed, and apply moisturizer. Everything else depends on your skin type – how often you exfoliate, what kinds of masks do you use, anti-age products, and so on. You know your skin best, but if you have any doubts, don’t go to a friend for advice. Same products work differently for different people, so you may not be satisfied even if your friend swears by a certain product. It’s a better idea to see a professional instead.

5. Update your makeup style

When you want to look not only beautiful but full-on glamorous, makeup is the way to go. If up until now it wasn’t your cup of tea, now is the time to learn all the new tips and tricks. One of the best things about today’s world is the internet, so use it to your advantage. There are many makeup tutorials on youtube, so find a vlogger with a face shape similar to yours, and steal some tricks. Don’t be afraid to step outside of your comfort zone – try out that bold eyeliner you like and don’t forget to grab some gorgeous fake eyelashes to really make your eyes pop. Nude lipsticks are great, but try some of the more vibrant ones from time to time – you may really like them. Experiment a bit, and see what fits you and your image best.

6. Go shopping

Finally, when everything else has been taken care of, it’s time for you to think about the clothes. Go through your wardrobe, and keep only the things you really like and wear often. Give away all the rest, and then go shopping. Learn how to work with your body shape, and find things that look flattering, and fit into the image you want to project. Make sure all of the items you buy can be combined into different outfits to suit different occasions. Finally, for an easy way to bring new life into old outfits, accessorize. A new handbag or a statement necklace can really make a difference in the overall appearance, so don’t underestimate their power.

Finding a new look for yourself doesn’t have to include any drastic measures. Go slowly, and soon enough you won’t be able to recognize the old you on the photos.
