A nine year old boy named Luke who did not have his last name released is being praised for being a hero when on Monday afternoon while his mom and three of her children were inside their family home when a fire broke out in the front porch of their home in Marysville California which is around 40 miles north of Sacramento.
Luke was outside the home where he lives with his mom and three other siblings. Luke then saw flames in the front porch as well as the side of the home that were spreading to the attic.
Luke then ran as fast as he could to go inside his home to alert his mother, younger brother and two infants who were inside the home without any knowledge of a fire outside their home.
What Luke did to assist his mother and one of the infants is amazing. Luke called the authorities to report the fire at his mom’s home, then he picked one of the female infants while his mother grabbed one of the other infant and Luke’s five year old brother as they fled away from the direction of the flames.
Marysville Fire Department firefighter Tony Cuppoletti praised Luke for his quick thinking to evacuate his relatives before it was too late.
The cause of the fire is being investigated by the authorities. Even Luke and his relatives lost their home, I am sure a charity like the Red Cross will help locate a temporary home until they land on their feet once again.
He surely is a hero and I hope he is given every opportunity to continue learning about serving others. Perhaps he will be fire chief one day, or Army medic, or President! If you learn about which organization is helping his family please post it. Maybe you could even do a post on those that are helping many of the situations you have reported about here. Thanks for sharing this story.
I will do my best to find out. It will likely be the Red Cross who assist them find a new home.
Amazing story of love and a great ending. This family will never forget it.
That is true since the firefighters did tell them that their son is a hero for alerting them that their lives are in danger.
A smart and adroit kid … Of course they need help with accommodation.
It is a good thing that Luke was outside the home when he saw the fire start. Otherwise the media would report a sad story of deaths inside of a home when a fire consumed their home in the Sacramento market.
Yes, that would be a great tragedy … they had luck.
Better to lose a home than your life.
Thank you for sharing ,nice post.
