Sitting in the room with women who had experienced abusive marriages, Abby felt a graduate, until the Counselor said;
“You have to put your abuse into words so that you can think about it. Think about, speak about it, analyse it. See what really happened. If you don’t have the words, you can not overcome it.”
Abby considered this rather odd. While she mused, another woman spoke of her experiences, and the Counselor replied;
“That was his justification; but was it true?”
Suddenly Abby felt as if she’d stepped from semi-consciousness into reality.
