Meditating on Different Things…

Tuesday, 7.9.19

Last night, I couldn’t sleep. I turned on my iPhone, and I was suddenly chatting with a guy in Bangladesh a graphic design career. He doesn’t have much money, and I was giving him tips to do it on his own. He said he wanted to teach graphic design. It was daytime for him, while I was wide awake in the middle of the night. But, eventually, he got off his iPhone, and I drifted into deep sleep.

I woke up to feed Gumby, before making my brunch of sprouted tofu and vegan Italian sausage. I drank a cup of water with acv, along with my vegan vitamins, before I ate my brunch. I drank another cup of water with acv after I ate. Then, I decided to mail two bills. One was normal. But the other was from the recent 911 call. I had called because I had started to hyperventilating, which is because of I was nervous thinking about the veins on my feet, and my right calf and foot were slightly swollen. I didn’t know what to do, and I was freaking out. I was trying to relax, do light walking, and I had temporarily stopping going to the gym. 

I soon realized that my IBS occurs at certain times, triggered by something that feels scary, which made me nervous. I don’t think it has much to do with the food because I eat healthy, mostly vegan and minimal vegetarian, as well as I am very active, energetic, and healthy. Maybe it is just middle age issues, but I just don’t think this should have to a slim middle-aged woman who is very active. So, it still didn’t make sense. 

The last time my IBS occurred was probably in mid 90s; I don’t even remember. It was after my birthday, and my parents’ had taken me to yacht pier, where I ordered a pizza. A couple of days, I felt sick with a virus. I must have caught something, somewhere in the air outside. I ended up staying with my parents in Fullerton until I recuperated. I remember I had IBS as well as fever from the virus. I drank a lot of 7UP on the rocks to cool down my fever, as well as placed a cold wet towel all over my body. I eventually became better, went home, and continued my normal life. 

I had an appointment with a family doctor through my Oscar Plan, this week. I hope he is normal. 

I have a walking meetup at Turtlerock this evening, but I decided not to attend. I don’t want to get dehydrated in this summer weather and hilly area. I decided to rest my feet for now, mostly walking light walking meetups on flat areas. I am not sure when I will return to the gym for yoga classes.
