Libraries Will Never Go Out of Style

A friend of mine once said he debated with his father that one day all books would be digitized or in digital format.  His dad insisted that it would never happen.  I agree with dear old dad.  Even though the statistics show that almost everybody in China reads books on their cell phones and China accounts for 18% of the world’s population, I can’t imagine a world without libraries.  Even if public libraries opted to convert books to digital format, I think people would still maintain their own personal or private libraries filled with hardcopy and paperback books.  Don’t you think so?

  1. What is a library? I know you won’t like my response, my apologies for that but I believe the time of libraries is over.

    They are huge wastes space.

We need to reuse the buildings for other things or tear them down.

    • No need to apologize. I can only hope that many many others disagree with you. There are so many other buildings that can be demolished and the area where they stood can put to better use. Libraries represent intelligent humanity. To suggest their destruction sounds almost sounds sacrilegious to me. (LOL. OK. Yeah. I think most people can tell I really like libraries. LOL.)
