Habits of Omisson

Omission is a failure to do something. Many of our habits are simply habits of omission. It is just things we don’t do every day so not doing them is a habit. It’s really not very important or is it?

I decided to try a little personal inventory of things I believe that I should do every day and still I don’t make them a priority or create a habit.  I have a lot of “stuff” in my home that I no longer need. I look at it every day and about once a month I get a box together and get ride of it.  Since things keeps coming into the house it is a never ending battle. Simply because I don’t set a new habit of getting rid of a certain of number of things a day. I have created a habit of hanging on to way too many things.

I don’t tell people I love them every day! What a horrible habit that is. One day they will be gone and I would have let them now that I loved them on that day. Anything you don’t do for 30 days is as much of a habit has things you do for 30 days.

So I am going to put together a list of a few things that I want to work on. I want to be more conscious of the habits I am creating.

  1. I’m all for downsizing and getting rid of “stuff”. I’ve tried to break my husband’s habit of bringing more “stuff” into the house.
